The beginning of it all. Having bowled together casually for years Megan, Jesse and Alyssa thought it was time to take it to the next level. Thankfully Ryan was an experienced league bowler and was the perfect anchor for the squad. As soon as the registration and NUTTER GUTTER name was official Jesse could not help but start on the logo and branding.
Only appropriate to yell when a teammate leaves a Big or Small rail and they absolutely crush the spare.
After Megan and Alyssa went to see the Broadway play "Take Me Out" starring Jesse Williams of Grey's Anatomy fame and witnessed his unique physical gifts on full display. The team had to re-name the Big Rail leave as the Jesse Williams. We are all just hoping to Get Railed! by Jesse Williams.
The WOMBAT is when you miss your first shot into the gutter, and on your second shot pick up the spare. In the proud tradition of bowling terminology, it does not make a ton of sense. However it stuck with the gutters and now they are joined by Gutter the plush wombat at every game. Including his custom made sweater. You earn the right to give him a pet if you hit a Wombat on the lanes.
Punch It Out, is a classic bowling term for getting all the strikes you can to end a game. Usually in the tenth frame. It has become the rallying cry for the Gutters when we need a big moment. It is also always accompanied by punching the air as many times as the amount of strikes you need.
Gutters best half season of all time...So far. Held 1st place for about 10 weeks, blasted everyone to pieces.
Second half of the season was a mess, but we had 'em in the first half.
Super intense championship match.
